Roycemore junior Isabella G. has been singing since she was a child, but this summer she’ll get the chance to share her talents with some of the most esteemed college conservatories in the country.

As a student at the Julliard Summer Voice Institute, Isabella is one of 20 students selected from across the U.S. to participate in a week of masterclasses from industry professionals, private voice coaching, and college-level voice and movement classes. In true Roycemore fashion, Isabella is most looking forward to the educational aspect of the program as she explores the world of classical voice, from healthy singing habits to expanding her range as a singer. She’s excited to experience the feeling of living on a college campus and being in New York City, where she hopes to move to pursue musical theatre professionally after earning her B.F.A. in college.

This incredible opportunity comes from Isabella’s hard work and commitment to her training. Earlier this year, Isabella was invited to participate in the Broadway Artists’ Alliance, a weekend program in New York City that allowed her to network with casting directors, deepen her skills as a theatre artist, and even sharpen the song she’ll be performing at Roycemore’s Auction! After Julliard, Isabella is headed to Ithaca College, one of the top-ranked musical theatre conservatories in the US, for another summer intensive, this one focused on acting and musical theatre. There, she’s excited to explore acting, dance, and musical theatre fundamentals as she works to become a triple-threat performer!

When asked about how she’s brought her love of musical theatre to Roycemore, Isabella cited the numerous performance opportunities she’s had as an Upper School student. Because of Roycemore’s small size, Isabella has been able to sing in a variety of different styles and strengthen her skills onstage as a lead in multiple productions. As she looks forward to college, she’s working through our individualized College Guidance program to help her determine where she’ll continue to grow as a young performer. Look for her on the Roycemore stage next Fall, or on Broadway and beyond!
