Financial Operations Coordinator
Roycemore School seeks a Financial Operations Coordinator to begin as soon as possible. Founded in 1915, Roycemore is a highly regarded, co-educational independent school for students from 3 years old through 12th grade. Located in Evanston, Illinois, on the north side of Chicago, Roycemore enjoys a long-standing relationship with Northwestern University.

Position Overview:
The Financial Operations Coordinator supports the school’s financial and operational functions, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in day-to-day business office activities. This role works closely with the Director of Finance & Operations and other administrative staff to manage accounting processes, accounts receivable, payroll, purchasing, tuition billing, and financial reporting.
This position requires critical thinking skills, a high level of professionalism, punctuality, and the ability to take initiative. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and a self-starter capable of independently managing projects while maintaining collaborative relationships across the organization.
This role carries a fiduciary duty to the school and requires the careful handling of sensitive and confidential financial information, maintaining the highest standards of integrity and discretion.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Accounting
- Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate payments and deposits
- Assist in preparing monthly financial statements, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Maintain general ledger entries and support annual audits
- Help manage tuition billing and collection processes
- Monitor and reconcile departmental budgets and expense reports
Payroll & Benefits
- Assist with bi-weekly payroll processing and benefits administration
- Maintain accurate employee payroll and benefits records
- Support onboarding and offboarding of employees with respect to payroll and benefits
Operational Support
- Assist with purchasing, vendor management, and contract tracking
- Support financial aid processing and reporting
- Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for financial records
- Provide administrative support for compliance and risk management processes
- Assist with front desk duties as needed, including greeting visitors, answering phones, and providing general administrative support
- Provide occasional support for the school’s advancement efforts
- Other duties as assigned
Fiduciary & Confidential Responsibilities
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all financial, payroll, and personnel information
- Exercise sound judgment and integrity in financial decision-making and reporting
- Uphold fiduciary responsibility to safeguard the school’s assets and financial data
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. Associates required, Bachelors preferred.
- 2–4 years of experience in accounting, business operations, or financial administration (preferably in a school or nonprofit setting)
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel

Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary Range: $55,323 - $68,124 annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
- Includes a comprehensive benefits package (health, dental, vision, retirement, and paid time off).
