Robert Eisner Distinguished Scholar Program

Roycemore School’s Robert Eisner Distinguished Scholar Program rewards academic excellence and recognizes up to three outstanding students with a full tuition scholarship to the #1 Most Diverse Private High School in Illinois (Niche 2022).

I look back on my life so far and can say for a fact that none of this would have happened to me without the possibility of a Roycemore education – without the Eisner Distinguished Scholar Program. To feel, at 13 years old, that a school sees potential in you, and believes you can be great, is an experience more powerful than words can describe. To be placed in an environment that is safe, and encouraging, and understanding, at a time when schools typically seek to standardize students and their educations, made more of a difference than I can say.

Area students in 8th or 9th grade are eligible to apply for the 2023-2024 academic year. The application deadline is November 21, 2022.

The Eisner Distinguished Scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate academic excellence, civic engagement, and leadership abilities. The scholarship is renewable for up to four years based on a student’s commitment to their education and community while maintaining a 3.0-grade point average. To qualify, a student must score at the 90th percentile or better on the total math and/or total verbal sections of a nationally normed, standardized achievement test and have a superior academic record.

A long-time Evanston resident, Robert Eisner was a notable economist who advised presidents, governments, and the educational community. He was a supporter of Roycemore School, and the Robert Eisner Distinguished Scholar Program was established in his memory.

The Eisner Scholarship has provided me with amazing opportunities. It has allowed me to attend high school at Roycemore, surrounded by unique classmates and devoted teachers. Roycemore's environment allows me to grow not only as a student but as an individual. I am grateful for the Eisner Scholarship and all Roycemore has done for me.
— Maya Nyima, Eisner Scholar, Class of 2024
