Luis (Lou) Fernández is a strategic Chief Financial Officer, business advisor, and entrepreneur
with more than 25 years of experience leading financial strategy, operational transformation, and
organizational growth across private, nonprofit, and consumer-facing companies. He currently
serves as a CFO Advisor at How to Manage a Small Law Firm, where he helps law firm owners
gain financial clarity and build sustainable, growth-oriented businesses. He is also the Founder
and CEO of LumaKa Ventures, parent company of LumaKa Pets and LumaKa Publishing, and
Co-Founder and CFO of Birdie Bonanza, a charitable golf organization supporting nationally
recognized nonprofits that serve children, veterans, and families in need.
Lou previously served as President and Board Member of Montessori School of Lake Forest,
where he helped guide the school through a period of financial transformation and COVID
recovery. He joined the Roycemore Board of Trustees to contribute financial and strategic
expertise in support of the school’s continued growth and mission.
Lou and his wife Erika live in Long Grove with their daughter Madeleine, a proud Griffin who
joined Roycemore in January 2026 as a fifth grader. Together they enjoy travel, culture, animals,
and spending time with their extended family, including Luis’s four grown children.
