Author Study: Maurice Sendak
Please join us for a study of the famous author Maurice Sendak, as we make the “wild rumpus start” and explore “Alligators All Around.” We are excited to learn more about Mickey in the night kitchen, and Pierre as he is eaten by a lion! We will read and play and stomp and dream about “Where the Wild Things Are,” and actively color a little bit of summer as we learn about children who were being naughty and how these stories caused us to love them all.

Other readings include: “Pierre,” “Eating Chicken Soup with Rice,” “One was Johnny,” Mr. Rabbit and the Lovely Present” and more. Junior Kindergarteners must be 4 years old by September 1st.

Mythical Creatures
Dragons, unicorns, yetis, griffins, and mermaids, oh my! If your child is interested in learning about these mythical creatures, plus many others, this is the camp for them. We will learn about these creatures’ origin stories, physical characteristics, and abilities. This session will incorporate lots of hands-on learning and STEAM projects.

Create with LEGO Robotics
Students will use LEGOs to build models with motors and sensors. They will then work to program their models and explore various big idea questions relating to mathematics, science, technology, engineering and literacy. By working in pairs students will also focus on improving and developing important skills such as problem solving, collaboration and communication. Most importantly they will have a lot of fun!
